Recent Concerts 2009

2009 has seen a steady stream of performances by the Concert Band in and around Alnwick to the enjoyment of both the Players and our audiences. Below are the main performances of the year with one major concert still to come in November 2009.

Tall Ships Concert

A Mighty enjoyable concert at the Royal Grammar School Newcastle 6 Feb. 2010 in aid of fundraising for the Tall Ships Race by the Northumberland County Scouts. A programme of Nautical music was introduced by Glen and conductored by resident conductor Ray Thompson.

Bamburgh Christmas Concert

Inside Bamburgh castle for a Carol Christmas festive concert conducted by Ray Thompson. With excellent acoustics amd an appreciative audience, an enjpyable night with mince pies and mulled wine was had by all.

Belford Middle School

This concert was extremely well attended by parents and pupils who benefit hugely from the enthusiasm of Eric Grassner who runs a very successful music programme at the school. We all enjoyed sveral performances

Howick Hall 2009

Although a cool cloudy day the music sparkled as a select group played for the guests and friends at Howick Hall's annual Fete. We received a grateful letter of thanks and a donation to the Band's funds. More photos

Alnwick South First School

A small group of parents enthusiastically attended our concert in July.

Lesbury Fete 2009

A brilliant sunny afternoon at Lesbury helped everyone enjoy a traditional Garden Party at the vicarage. This is an annual event and we have been performing tnere for ten years now. There was almost a full band turnout, much to the surprise of Ray.......

Last Night of the Proms 2009

Dont forget to buy tickets for our big concert of the year in conjunction with the Alnwick Choral Group on November 20th 2009. Photos.

Hotspur Concert June 2009

The threat of rain saw us under a gazeebo for the celebrations of 700 years of the Percy family at Alnwick Castle. A huge crowd attended the weekend with a good audience listening to us as they wandered around.

Friday 25th September 2009 - Alwinton Church Concert - 7.30pm;

Friday 20th November 2009 – Last Night of The Proms Concert in The Playhouse with the Alnwick Community Choir - 7.30pm;

Saturday 6th February 2009 – “Tall Ships Concert” at 7.30pm– Royal Grammar School, Newcastle upon Tyne;

Wednesday 9th December 2009 – Ellington First School – Christmas Carolling

Saturday 12th December 2009 – Bamburgh Castle – Christmas Carolling

Monday 14th December 2009 – Band Christmas Meal – Embleton Hall

Saturday 19th December 2009 – Alnwick Market Place – Christmas Carolling – From 1.00pm until 3.00pm;
